Thank you for your interest in The Jewelry Detective. Whether you are looking to uncover the history of a forgotten family heirloom or seeking a specialized restoration for a damaged treasure, we are eager to assist you. Because we handle high-value items and sensitive historical assets, our studio operates as a private, secure workshop. We do not maintain a public retail storefront, and all initial consultations are conducted digitally to ensure a documented paper trail for every item we assess.
How to Reach Us
The most efficient way to begin your inquiry is by sending us a detailed email or filling out the secure contact form below. We review every inquiry personally. Please understand that because our work requires intense focus at the microscope and the bench, we are not able to accept unscheduled calls. Correspondence via email allows us to keep a precise record of the details regarding your jewelry, which is essential for accurate identification and restoration planning.
Email Inquiries: Please send your detailed request to chemrahsoufiyan@gmail.com. We strive to respond to all new case requests within two business days.
What We Need From You
To provide you with a meaningful preliminary assessment, we need you to act as our "eyes" before the jewelry reaches our lab. When you write to us, please include as much detail as possible. Tell us the story of the piece. Where did it come from? How long has it been in your possession? If you are inquiring about a repair, please describe the damage in your own words. The more context you provide, the better we can understand the scope of the project.
Photography Guidelines Clear imagery is the most critical part of our initial assessment. We ask that you attach high-resolution photos to your email. Please take these photos in natural daylight, perhaps near a window, avoiding the use of flash, which can obscure details and alter the appearance of gemstones. We need to see the front of the piece, the back of the setting, and the side profile. If there are any small markings, stamps, or hallmarks inside the band or on the clasp, please try to photograph those as clearly as possible. These small marks are often the key to unlocking the mystery of the item’s origin.
Our Restoration and Identification Process
Once we have reviewed your photographs and description, we will reach out with a preliminary evaluation. If we believe we can help, we will provide you with a rough estimate of the costs involved and a timeline for the work.
If you decide to proceed, we will issue you a unique Case Number. This number is your key to our secure mail-in system. For the safety of your property, we strictly do not accept packages that have not been pre-authorized with a Case Number. We utilize a secure, insured shipping protocol that protects your jewelry from the moment it leaves your hands until it arrives in our vault. All packages are opened under high-definition video surveillance to verify the contents immediately upon arrival.
